You've still got a free broadband line and game server for Phoenix lans. :D

I seriously recommend a change of venue if you want to grow PLANS and get new blood in.

Personally I'm unlikely to be attending another lan as a Gamer as time has marched on and my gaming PC has become our family PC. I certainly don't rule out attending another event as a helper or to socialise though but it all comes down to the venue.

Love the people, just don't love the venue.

Also I think it would be good to scale things up. Get some serious tournaments on the go which will get larger groups of people coming down. You might not like games like CSS etc but why not use them to your advantage, all those people help to support YOUR event. :D

Hi IMF, i think you might be right we have had quite a few emails in regards to the venue and date, yes its handy and its a good space but its far too cold and is in need of a good clean up.

myself and ali have received a few emails about the date and that people do want to come but cant on that date.

I know CSS isnt to everyones taste but its still the gamers choice so maybe we should make use of this.

In regards to this lan so far there are only 3 names down so we cannot see the point of running this in 3 weeks time so we are going to have to cancel as we do have to cover the cost of the venue.

After a few discussions we feel that this shouldnt be the end as some are thinking but we need to pick it up and start from scratch with a new venue and a new schedule .

I understand this will create some disatisfaction but bear with us we will come back with a plan and a clean slate.

In that case, if anyone is wanting a lan that weekend, I'd love to host one. Clean, warm, dry, good internet, cooking/washing, lots of facilities. Free! What more could you ask for? Could make it a 1 day event if necessary for those that couldn't do a weekend. Can easily fit 8-9 in the living room. Just a thought.

Id try the hotel complex on the Motorway that runs past bury. They have big conferencing rooms and you might be able to work out decent pricing.

deffo mate, doesnt have to be massive just somewhere warm and clean, it would be good if there is a kitchen area. i do know somewhere in radcliffe that fits all our criteria but i need to find out if they will accept us overnight.

Hey guys

Nice to see there is still signs of life here, all the other lans in the north west have dried up. Me and a couple of friends are even thinking about the i series we are that desperate for a good lan. Any more news of a potential future one?

I do agree with the CSS comments. I used to a massive player, since stopping I can see why people hate it. But unfortunatly a big CSS comp and a few posts would bring in the punters

Sorry, but I'm not being held to ransom with tournaments. There will be tournaments, but unless someone else comes up with prizes, they'll be for bragging rights only. I welcome suggestions for tournaments obviously, but the first lan I run will be more for me to find my feet than anything else. Please put game suggestions here:
