Grid Tourny

Postby Baracus » Fri May 22, 2009 10:56 pm

I gotta try and post this without it sounding too big headed lol :8:
(please don't take it that way)

I'm a bit stummped as to what to do about this Tourny :dum: :erm:

I'm a little bothered that people might think it's getting impossible to win this now, just as they did when jemz kept winning UT2K4 to the point he never even entered at the last Lan he attended just so others had a chance.

I don't want to not play this Tourny cos i love the game but i also don't wanna pee people off too much by keep winning but other than give a handicap (which i feel is unfair anyway) i really dunno what to do.

This lan (May 2009) we decided not to have prizes for it as i keep winning, this was my choice and agreed with Gazza too, but tbh I felt it was unfair on both Metsudo and Gazza as they came 2nd and 3rd and recieved just a Trophy each as did I. I can only think of starting prizes off from 2nd place downwards so i don't recieve a prize as i don't wanna keep taking prizes away from it, I just wanna prove i'm 1st and take my trophy.

If anyone has any idea's feel free cos i'm all out of idea's. We had everything as random as we could make it this time to make it as fair as possible for everyone but i know most (if not all) the tracks/cars anyway.

It has been mentioned i should be given a handicap, but i feel why should i be punished for being good at something? Or is this a fair way to do it?

I've also thought of maybe not entering the Tourny altogether but the winner faces me on a 1v1 for the final prize/trophy (kinda thing) but not sure how this would run.

I really don't wanna give it up altogether and not play the game as Jemz has been made to feel he has to do sometimes with UT2K4 cos i do like playin it but i do wanna give others a chance of it too but i still feel to win the title they need to beat me in some way. I know for a fact Gazza wouldn't be happy with the win unless he'd beaten me.

Idea's anyone? :8:

Personally I think it may be better if you keep entering (gives people something to aim for) but have prizes for 2nd/3rd/4th instead as that would probably be for the best. :D

the whole point of a tourney is to beat the champion
to take man u out the prem and then for another team to win would be poo. Cos everyone would just say well man u wasnt in ...and if they was it may of been diff bla bla bla and the other team would get no credit .

Bit like when they didnt play in the fa cup one year

so just stay and play if you defend and win again great :)
if you dont win then great for the other person but dont take the best player/teams out that just sucks

blindfold ya might even the odds a bit
Do agree with casshern though you are good at it cause you have practiced it alot and it does give people who like this game some thing to aim for,you shouldn`t give it up just because some people might winge that you are to good.

If you are the best, a win is much sweeter for someone that beats you. You should always enter.
